I mean, create a huge splash at the box office and cash in on their huge sex-appeal ontop of the fact that they never have stared together in a blockbuster before.
 
I mean, to rip off a great French film in a true American cinema fashion.

I mean, to create like true artists? Yeah, that one.

Rooney Mara Cast As Lisbeth Salander In 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Remake

The months long search is over,after beating several top-tier actresses, names I've heard were Kristen-I-Hate-My-Life-Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Megan Fox, and this chick. But thank God, none of those are the case. Rooney Mara, sister of Kate Mara, has been officially cast as the newest chick badass this side of the hemisphere--Lisbeth Salander, in the David Fincher directed The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. . Well, the other side too, but we stole it of course, Sweden, France, China/Japan and England must really hate us between robbing the stars and crew and remaking their movies.

With a limited but growing filmography she is standing to be truly thrust into the light with this one suckas. She's already been there and back with Finch on The Social Network. It's a shame he made that and gave Facebook the coolest points it's ever received.

'Let Me In' Trailer Drops

After scowering the internet for which Radiohead song this is, I gave up because there's too many of their tracks to narrow it down to. But in that scowering, I found that many people are very offended by this remake, really. Some didn't even like the original. The '08 Swedish film is a wonderful film about the alienation of two children on the brink of their teenage years and the bond that can be formed between two kindred spirits who find themselves lost. It's a love story for adults about kids. Go watch it.

In all that terrificness found in that film, some of it struck director Matt Reeves of Cloverfield fame, and he decided to remake it. With the best intentions of course, but that's not good enough for some. He's doing this because it struck him in his heart, and he got inspired--that's what being an artist is all about. This isn't going to make a whole lot of money, nothing Oscar-baity really does. He's making this to show others of the beauty that can be found in the book's material. Only film geeks really know about the Swedish version. This American remake will be make a small splash at the B.O. and mos def get people in the film community talking, hopefully people outside of it too. Which is the whole intention of the remake. To the wonder in the book translated onto the screen. Trust. It will undoubtedly be compared to the original but whether or not it holds up or surpasses it is yet to be seen. It looks good enough to me, maybe a little too faithful, but good enough just the same. Really good. I'm excited. Plus, I have an actor's crush on Moretz, she's gonna go places.

Let Me In It tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a new child in a New Mexico town in the early 1980s.

Anyway, without further adieu...

A Review: A Nightmare On Elm Street

I knew within the first two minutes of this film, that it was going to suck balls... That's sucks balls man. I was excited and stuff too. Here is my review on A Nightmare On Elm Street. Or, the 95 minutes I'll never get back.

A Review: Let The Right One In

There are times in life, when I cross paths a with a film so fresh, the beats of my heart are stabbed with every passing minute the film roles on... and every second is relished and appreciated. This film applies to just that in the category of instant love and admiration.

Let The Right One In was terrific, stupendous, unique and ingenues. It was everything I've never quite seen on film before. In order of importance, the movie was:

1. A story of romance, discovery and the expulsion of grim loneliness.
2. With two twelve year olds at the center. One of them happening to be a vampire who needs to feed.

Here is my most satisfied review of Let The Right One In.

Let The Right One In is a 2008 Swedish film about two pre-teens growing up in a shady apartment complex. The boy, constantly bullied and finding himself alone, one night has a chance meeting with a young girl and they slowly become entirely inseparable. But he begins to find out, what he doesn't initially know, is that his new friend is a vamp son. (I smell a 4 banana review coming on...)

Helen Mirren Added To Russell Brand 'Arthur' Remake

The '81 Oscar winning film Arthur, is being remade with Russell Brand set to star in title role that had Dudley Moore almost winning an Academy Award and Steve Gordon, picking up a best screenplay nod.


And now the great, the wonderful, the ever lovable and stupendous British actress Helen Mirren, is being added the cast as his longtime nanny/valet/driver. John Gielgud won the gold statue for the role in the original. So I'm sure she see's the capabilities to succeed in this role. 


In the original, Arthur turned to Hobson the butler (Gielgud) for advice after his family threatened to cut off his inheritance if he did not marry a woman he didn't love.


We'll see how this plays out. I've heard rumblings that Modern Family episode director Jason Winer could be helming the project. 

The original movie centered on a boozy playboy who is set to inherit a fortune if he marries an heiress his family thinks will make something out of him. However, he falls in love with a working-class woman and turns to his valet for help when his family makes him choose between money and love. The script is set scribbled by Peter Baynham. Baynham was a writer on Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat and Bruno. The start date for principle photography is set for July in New York City. 

Be keeping tabs on this potential Oscar bait. Looks like the Warner Bros. is trying to keep the remake in the same vein of prestige as the original did, maybe better?

A Review: The Crazies, Maybe Not So Crazie Afterall

Or, maybe it would depend on how you look at it, because like Roger said, the zombie genre is a very exhausted one. In fact, running strong and revitalized since the boom with '02 Danny Boyle flick, 28 Days Later, I'm sorta waiting until it blows out it's knee and retires itself for a hot minute. 

So it's kinda hard to get excited about this stuff, unless you're die hard, or the director is bringing a unique approach to the thing. While not entirely fresh, director Breck Eisner skipped out on plenty (but not all) of the hackneyed and commonplace tricks of this sort of trade, and went for the straight-forward, "let's-not-try-too-hard-and-just-do-this-dirty" approach. And it worked.
