Clooney To Direct Giamatti, Pine and Seymour Hoffman in 'Farragut North'

I say to you tree-readin' suckas: George Clooney directing Paul Giamatti, Chris Pine and Philip Seymour Hoffman in a 04' Demo election campaign trail film? Yezir!

The film will be based off the LA play by Beau Williamson Farragut North and if the actor's sign up, they could be shooting by next February. (Whiz Khalifa voice) Okkkaaaaaayy!

But wait! There's more!

Seth Rogen & Chris Pine Pairing With McG For Action Romantic Comedy?

Chris Pine and Seth Rogen? With McG in an action film with romantic comedy applications? Yezir!

This Means War, is the name of the film that could house these three, with Reese Witherspoon as the romantic antagonist of sorts. The run down of the film is as follows:
"Two best friends, both of whom are spies, go to war with each other after falling in love with the same woman. It's about what's more important -- your best friend or the love of your life -- and what happens when the two come into conflict with each other."
That supposedly goes even more over the top (in an exciting way) when the two men's bond disintegrates, their ensuing battle escalates to mammoth proportions, with New York City demolished in their wake. Including major landmarks including the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

This project, has been floating around for some time now.  It was once a Martin Lawrence film set up at Fox, Lawrence get's less funny for every pound and/or film he takes on. So thank the Movie Gods for that. But a few actors have been passed around in this game of film musical chairs... uh, yeah. Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Wedding Crashers)  peaced out getting nervous feet I was told, or maybe scheduling conflicts with his Darker Fields and Hangover 2 shooting sched. James Franco passed on one of the roles too.  We'll have to see if this film is a better version of the Cruise and Diaz's upcoming Knight & Day, also set on a large scale, big budget and with action and romantic comedy heavily sprinkled on top. Reese Witherspoon is enough pull on her own--who seems to be the only lock on this film--to get some things turning in the machine that could be a great summer blockbuster. She's big, HIGHLY paid and powerful, with a good track record. And everyone loves her, she's an American Sweetheart sorta.

Let's see where this goes, as nothing is set yet. I'll be keeping you sucka-tree-readin'-fools posted on this.

Munki Out.
