First Clip Released For 'Passion Play'

A Passion Play is a play about the death and final hours of Christ, I've seen my sister do one for our church when we were kids. She was the Virgin Mary.

It just so happens this film, is about Megan Fox as a sort of fallen angel/circus freak-show who is in some trouble with a local mobster played by . . . Bill Murray? All the while getting mixed up with Mickey Rourke as down-and-out trumpet player. (Whiz Khalifa voice) Oookkaaaaayyyy!

Hit the jump button for the clip and more about this cool concept of a film.

Via /Film the film just bowed last night at the Toronto Film Festival, so it's hopes for a distributor and and then an actual trailer should follow soon. This clip was most likely released to add some jazz to the mix of it's building hype. I'm real stoked for every element in this project. And if this clip is any sign, I'm gonna be real excited to see this thing. The official synopsis is as follows:
"When a jazz trumpeter is taken to the desert and a gun held to his head, we are at the beginning of a delightful fable about romance and dreams. When he meets a beautiful woman who works as the Bird Woman in a circus, he falls madly in love and persuades her to run away with him only to find that life is a little more complicated than simply living one’s fantasies."
As my black hat says, "Alrighty Then." Without futher adieu. . .

Look at the subtly, the pain and hope on Rourke's face, and the droll entrapment of Fox. I'm pumped, and Fox could use some good fortune after Jonah Hex bombed and her and the TF series went their separate ways.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Glazer has worked on Murray's script for Scrouged and was an associate producer on Lost In Translation as well. So that's always something better than not when people have worked together before. I'll be keeping a close eye on this thing for me as well as you tree-readin' suckas.

Munki scrutinizingly out.
