Aronofsky To Direct Wolverine Sequel?

With things in place for a story and script, all that's set is a director to helm the vision of Wolverine on screen once more. And after the disappointing drivel that was action heavy and brain-light X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it's safe to say that Gavin Hood won't be invited to Japan (the setting of the new movie and comic book arch they're basing it off of). It was disappointing to watch that train wreck itself too, considering Tsotsi and Rendition were real good films.

But now Deadline Hollywood has the skinny on the next move for the franchise. Could Darren Aronofsky have the chair to himself? Hit the jump button to read more and him and David Slade (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) in the running.

'Black Swan' Trailer And Poster Drops

When I heard abouth is project last year--this project being directed by Darren Aronofsky with stars Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel and even Winona Ryder in a psycho-thriller about ballerinas in NYC--I was bought and paid for right there.

The trailer is no disappointment as far as what I wanted. This director is one of the best actor's directors around. He knows how to grab the best performances out of his actor's. If they're a weaker actor, watch them in his stuff, then watch them in something else. Points proven.

But wait! There's more!

3rd Time's A Charm, Or So They Say

Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky have tried twice already to get on screen. Once with The Foutain, which Pit deserted, and once with The Fighter, which Pitt deserted. Pussy. Well, let's see what happens where here with The Tiger. Thanks to Slashfilm for the heads up (and their pic, sorry). Based off the novel The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival by John Valiant. The story is a non-fiction account.

Variety desribes the pitch as follows:
The Tiger takes place on the Siberian plain, where human development is encroaching on the tigers’ habitat — and one tiger turns on the intruders. With townspeople being tracked and hunted with an almost supernatural power, a conservationist game warden must face down the tiger. It is a fight that only one of them can win.
Sounds intriguing, not unlike like The Ghost And the Darkness but we'll see what happens here. This is something completely different, for one it's not Africa. Siberian Plain, snow, jungle, villagers, the 90's, Brad Pitt, Daren Aronofsky, and not to mention Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel) penning the script.  I'm sold.

Let's see if this ever comes to fruition. Or, if Brad doesn't get weak in the knees and just trust the Goddamn filmmaker with a terrific track record. Ehy buddy? I'll be keeping you tree-readin' suckas posted.

Aronofsky Directing Wife Weisz In 'Jackie' Onassis Biopic

Recently this project simply titled Jackie, has been getting the pre-work done on it to become an HBO special movie, with none other than Steve Spielberg behind it all, ushering it in and producing from a script by Noah Oppenheim based on the life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. But now it would seem, Steve isn't involved and HBO is not the medium they want to release this thing on.

/Film is reporting that Darren Aronofsky (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, Hopefully the Robocop Remake) is planning on directing and produce for his company Protozoa Pictures.

And better yet, he's also using his lovely, wonderful, beautiful, talented, precise and Academy Award winning wife as the first lady.

The screenplay centers on the Jackie O’ perspective on the four days immediately after the assassination and before the burial of her husband, President John F. Kennedy. Entertainment Weekly says that the story shows “the beloved Kennedy at both her most vulnerable and her most graceful.”

If the world was perfect, Aronofsky, would use the peril and anguish and media scrutiny "choking the first lady out" in the form of his Requiem devices and the solitude and dreariness and heart-tugging sympathy in the ways of Wrestler. But we'll see what he does, he loves his wife very much, you can tell that much from watching The Fountain. But either way, these two always give you something you didn't know and you wanted and everything you did. So I'm excited about the film, and this is my official pick for any major Oscars. These two don't fuck up, ever, so it should be interesting to see them, hopefully, stomp out competition. I'll be backing it.

Anymore news on this ofd course I'll be reporting it.

And Woman Say They're Not Indecisive...

They must have 3rd degree burns on their legs from the lies their pants suffer.
Welp, if you can't call shot's in Hollywood, what's the point of getting top billing and your name thrown all over the place right? What's the point of the high profile agent, manager, publicist, elite actor husband and all the other hooplah, right? At least that's Jolie's thinking.

First she was attached to Wanted 2, and considering that she was mostly responsible for the box office the move generated, it was pretty rest assured the studio came to the conclusion that she needed to be brought back for the second. When you take 75 milli budget and make 341,433,252 worldwide out of it, why not? 'Course, Timur Bekmambetov and James McAvory had a little something to do with it as well, but they don't have Jolie's pull. Period. And after all the prep work since LAST SUMMER, and all the script re-writes Jolie and Universal made them do for the damn thing, with only, a few weeks set before filming, she yanks herself out? Bro... Weak... And honestly, I was little excited about seeing the project come together. Sure the movie was a little shaky and had its draw backs, and the ending was a little weak, but, hell man, it was a summer popcorn flick and I was happy with what it delivered.
